Operational Resilience: Process flows

Operational Resilience: Process flows

Info
This feature is only accessible to Administrators and members of Critical Operations (IBS) Security Group with Edit rights.

Idea
Tip: Important business services also known as critical operations.

Process flows help mapping each process to understand its conditions and resource dependencies to build a resilient business model. This provides a single overview of the dependencies across your organisation, allowing for the allocation of alternate processes or resources in case of disruptions.

Warning

Good to know:

  • You can map only one process flow per Critical Operations.

  • A critical process can have only one logic. For example, if ‘Payment value’ is set as the originating process for one logic, it can't be set up for other logics.

Add a process flow

  1. Navigate to the Critical Operations tab.

  2. Select a specific Critical Operations record from the left-hand menu.

  3. Navigate to Critical processes tab.

  4. Scroll down to the Process flow section to start mapping out your plan to reduce harm as a flow chart.

Scenario 1: Default View - no condition

  1. The default view has the 'Condition' box unchecked and the 'the result is another critical process' box checked.

  2. Select the appropriate originating process from the drop-down list.

  3. If the 'the result is another critical process' box is checked, select the resulting process from the drop-down list.

  4. If the 'the result is another critical process' box is unchecked, enter a brief description on the resulting outcome.

  5. Click Done.

Scenario 2: Adding a Condition

  1. To add a condition to the process flow, simply tick the Condition box.

  2. Enter the condition in the text field and include both the process or outcome for both 'yes' and 'no' conditions.

  3. Click Done.

Change or Delete Process Flow

  • To add another flow in the process, select Add from the Actions Menu of the last process card.

  • To delete a flow, select Delete from the Actions Menu of the last process card. Deleting a logic is only possible from the last step in the process, minimising downstream and upstream impact.

  • Editing logic is not currently available. If you need to edit a logic, delete the existing one and create a new logic.
