How to Set Up a New Register Type and Make It Active (Live)

How to set up a new Register Type and Make it Active (Live)?

To create a new Register Type in Drova GRC, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Maintenance menu.

  2. Select Register from the sub-menu.

  3. Click on Types of Register.

  4. If you missed any of the below steps then the regsiter will not be Active even though the status says its Active

After creating a register type, it may not appear as active if you have missed some key steps. To make the register type live, it is mandatory to complete the following three steps as listed below:

WarningImportant:
If any of the steps below are missed, the register type will not become fully active, even if the status appears as "Active."


Three Mandatory Steps to Make a Register Type Live

1. Add Form Fields

Ensure the register type includes at least one form field.

Once you begin creating form fields, a form will be generated, and you can continue adding fields as needed to meet your requirements.

The screen to add form fields will look the below screenshot. Click on + icon to add desired form fields.


2. Assign an Owner

Alert
Each register type must have at least one assigned owner.

To add an owner, click on the second icon (owner icon) within the register type setup.

3. Add Status Values

Each register type must include at least one User Defined Status.

This is a mandatory step to make the register type fully active.

  • Each status must have a unique name.

  • You can configure whether the status is displayed by default in the Register List.

  • Example: Common status values include "Open" and "Closed" to help track the state of records within the register.

Final Step

If you want the new register type to be available immediately, log out of Drova GRC and log back in.
Your newly created register type will now be visible under the Create and Records sub-menus.
